Topic: Keith Urban using Joe Les Paul

Pretty cool stuff, considering Keith uses mainly vintage gear. I didn't know if I should post this here or in the Other Artists section, but it's about a guitar, so I put it here.

There's a couple seconds where the screen in the back shows some closeups of the guitar. The mismatched knobs and 50's logo placement sealed any doubt I had.

I can't tell if it's aged or not, still cool though.

Danny Sure does look like one and that is so cool if he's gone out and got one
I really admire Keith as an artist, songwriter and live performer and he is such a down to earth guy if you catch him in interviews, plus i have a few cd's too and they're very good
He has a great ability in writing heartfelt songs of love and life

Keith is Australian? How weird, I had no idea!

I used to not be a big fan of Keith's, but he has great taste in gear, and he actually plays extremely well!

I received this on July 20th as an e-mail about Keith Urban.  I don't own any Keith Urban and am not much of a country music fan, but after I read this from Bob Lefsetz and a few other things about Keith, I felt maybe I'm missing out on something good.  So, who can suggest a CD I should start out with?

If you can find it,check out Keith Urban's stuff w/ a band called "The Ranch". Really nice. Not a big country fan but his playing is insain. Well worth the find and uses ALOT of licks I now use in my blues,blues/rock,and rock playing. Alot of fresh ideas to listen to and pick up.

Keith Urban does indeed own and is using a JBLP on tour. There's mention of it in this months issue of Vintage Guitar.

I read a heartbreaking story about how Keith Urban lost the majority of his guitars (about 50 of them) in the Nashville floods this past spring.  I was wondering if Joe's signature Les Paul was among them?

It's great to see that Keith’s JBLP survived the flood in Nashville. I guess the Keith along with many other musicians lost so much gear during the flood. Such a sad day for everyone affected by the flood.

Keith's gnarly- One of the few guys that plays an actual Trainwreck amp Live..I dig his approach and style more than Paisley from a country standpoint.

I would just suggest his Greatest Hits package, "18 Kids" or something like that. It's got some excellent stuff on there. Also, there's some outstanding guitar work on his last CD before this newest one (which I keep forgetting to download), called "Defying Gravity."

Joe, I'm thrilled to read you're a Keith Urban fan. A lot of people knock him because of the "poppiness" of his music or even how he looks, but the guy is a sick player and I'm a fan because of that.

KB also just used a Mayer Sig Martin and Dumble at a recent free gig with word that he bought Dumble from JM, not surprising after KB been playing a little with Mayer the gear junky.
