That looks to be a 59 Les Paul reissue number.
Okay - this makes a bit of sense.
He played a honeyburst/iced tea looking Les Paul that I'd never seen before for 4 numbers.
Hi there...
saw that too...interessting statement... hmmm... such an enthusiastic statement made by Joe who's has had hundreds of instruments in his hands already... I'd rather think he's got a real 59 BURST...
there is one existing with this S/N... LOOK HERE...
A while ago he played the Kossoff Burst and I understood that he's going to be after one... maybe now he's has found it...
Just my guess...
PIT...
Yeah a serial number that low would make it a late '50s Les Paul, probably the
It is a 59 burst. If there is anyone that deserves the Holy Grail of Les Paul's its Joe.
Wow! A real '59 LP! I totally agree that Joe definitely deserves it. Just don't tell me how much it cost.
It looks a little like the one he played (I think) that time when he came on stage with Derek Trucks. I know there is a video link buried in the forum somewhere, but the look on his face when he realized it was a "real" original LP was priceless.
I know Joe feels that guitars should be played and not locked away to look at, but I wonder how much this one will see the road. I wouldn't let it out of my sight.
That's not a re-issue. Go to http://www.burstserial.com/gallery/main … amp;var2=2 to check it out. He is definitely in the Big Boy Club with this. I'm glad to see some of these instruments get into the hands of real players who will use them for what they were intended for instead of putting them away in a safe.
Holy moly... the $$$$
I can't wait to hear it! Hopefully it made it onto the new record.

That's actually my photo! Yeah, this is the guitar in question. He used it on So It's Like That, If Heartaches Were Nickels, Steal Your Heart Away, and Great Flood.

After comparing photos, this looks to be true!

haha it is quite a small world isn't it? thats awesome and i bet it was a fantastic show!
I loved the blacklight photos on that link... but did you see the frets!? YIKES!!!
Pretty cool if it's real '59, and one of the good ones. Every batch of guitars has some duds in it... I'm confident Joe got a good one.
I'm just wondering who gave one up? Most all of them should be accounted for.
COME ON JOE TELLS US THE STORY!!!!!
Now joe knows how we feel when we get one of his sig guitars!( a little differance in the price i might add!!!)

Thanks Austin! I didn't pay as close attention to the guitars as I normally would, but I'll look through our photos and video for images of this one. And I'll keep an eye out in the upcoming shows.
Two more of the guitar.
