The
Times Union
newspaper in
Albany had this to say about Joe's June 16 performance in Albany:
"Guitarist Joe Bonamassa is only 25 years old, but he plays like a pro
raised on the same roots as guys like Jones, Ralphs and Colwell.
Bonamassa actually called up echoes of '60s guitar gods like Alvin
Lee, Leslie West and Jimi Hendrix during his brief set (which actually
began 10 minutes before the showtime listed on tickets). And, as if to
prove he really is a classic rock guy, Bonamassa spiked his set with a
great version of Jethro Tull's "A New Day Yesterday'' (the title track
of his 2000 debut).

Here's
what the
Washington Post
had to say
about Joe when he was in DC on June 14:
"Sure, you can look
back at the '70s when Bad Company and Foreigner play
Friday at the Merriweather Post Pavillion (202/432-7328), but why not
look forward by not missing the opener, the talented 24-year-old
guitarist Joe Bonamassa, whose blues chops rival those of
Stevie Ray Vaughan. Really."

"Don't Be Late" -
The Buffalo News
said this in their June 7 edition:
"If you're planning on attending the Bad Company/Foreigner show at
Darien Lake on Saturday, don't be late. Opener Joe Bonamassa, left,
just might steal the show."
Joe
in the Toledo
Blade
on June 2:
"Opening tonight’s
concert will be Joe Bonamassa, the 25-year-old guitar virtuoso who
used to lead the group Bloodline. Bonamassa’s solo debut, "A New Day
Yesterday," featured guest appearances by Greg Allman, Rick Derringer,
and Leslie West. His latest release, "So, It’s Like That," is due in
August."
