"This lithograph features Joe playing a rare gem. One of his main studio axes and his “go-to Tele” is his 1951 Fender Nocaster. This is not only one of the rarest instruments in existence, but for Joe this is “a lifelong guitar that I will play and cherish.” His love for Telecasters can be traced back to the “Telemaster” himself, Danny Gatton. Gatton was known for revolutionizing the sound of the Tele and for branding a unique style he dubbed “redneck jazz.” At twelve years old, Joe was invited on stage to jam with Gatton and has admired him ever since. If you look closely, you can see one of Gatton’s picks he gifted to Joe safely tucked in the Nocaster’s pickguard, paying homage to one of his favorite players."
